The fourth annual Net Zero Economy Forum, organized by Kapital traditionally brought together local and international experts from, with the mission to show how the different sectors work on climate mitigation, aiming to slow down the unfortunately inevitable climate change.The programme was designed to cover the sustainable development efforts of the different sectors: construction, urban planning, mobility, agriculture and finance.
The event was opened by the Minister of Environment and Water of Bulgaria Eng. Petar Dimitrov. Among the participating professionals could be seen representatives of the business and governments across Europe like: Mayors (Vassil Terziev, Mayor of Sofia, Stelios Angeloudis, Mayor of Thessaloniki, Keti Luarasi, Deputy Mayor, Tirana) EU Mission for the 100 Climate-neutral & Smart Cities (Maria Vasilakou and Gratian Mihailescu), NGO and business representatives, sustainability and finance experts. The topics discussed included urbanist and business spheres with key accents of the sustainable development, circular economy and ESG reporting.
The BGBC Chairperson and executive director of RPHI Bulgaria Ms. Adina Welsh, was invited to become a keynote speaker of the event. She talked about green building certification and how the certified real estate assets not only increase their market value, but are also a key factor on our way to emissions reduction:
"Green certification is a great step zero to Net Zero. It does not apply only to your businesses. Think of it as a consumer, as a valuer, as a professional. Look for the source of things and ask for it.", said Adina Welsh in her speech from the stage.
