The Urban Future Conference 2023 took place in Stuttgart. Between the 21 and 23 of June under the roofs of Gewerkschaftshaus (Trade Union Center) and Haus der Wirtschaft (House of Economy), hundreds of International experts in urban sustainability who shared experience and good practices with the audience of over 2000 people.
The UF 2023 offered different workshops and lectures in the fields of mobility, energy, real estate, public transport, housing, urban planning, tech, and public administration. The inspiration and passion for sustainability and sharing expertise – independently of their field, hierarchy, or sector – created the unique Urban Future atmosphere of collaboration and willingness to move towards a green urban transformation.
The topics of the different discussions covered every aspect of the contemporary urbanism, but our team focused on the ones, related to building decarbonisation with highlights to Sessions: 4.8. Getting it done: How to decarbonise existing buildings at scale and 1.4. Cutting emissions with data.
The closing evening was very special with the inspiring Cities FuckUp Night & Afterparty. Dagur B. Eggertsson, Mayor of Reykjavik, Kaisa-Reeta Koskinnen, Climate Unit, Helsinki, Miguel Gaspar, Former Deputy Mayor for Mobility, Lisbon and Gil Penalosa 8/80 cities shared their ups and downs as city changers.
